ᴘₒʟʏɢʟᵒᴛ VCRNOT has been an active member of the vaporwave scene producing original lo-fi music in the last couple of years. New Islands walks a fine line between the chillwave synth of Hotel Pools, Forhill etc. and the more breakbeat oriented organic beats of ESPRIT 空想 while maintaining a style that leans towards vaporwave more distinctly than their previous work. It effectively fits a niche and makes me happy to see the future of the genre developing in original ways like this. Favorite track: Clear Blue Skies.

sam bik Trust me when I said I didn't pick the first track as my favorite because it was the default pick; I legitimately love the first track, along with the tone it sets for the rest of the album. New Islands is VCRNOT's best effort yet, and leaves no room for filler. From track-to-track, you truly are on a tropical island vacation. Soaring arpeggios and harmonious bell-synths create the perfect 90's summer-surfin' vibes. Just what I love about VCRNOT. I cannot wait to see what's next! Favorite track: Archipelago.
